The Dave and Alex Show

FAQs

What is your show about?

It's about a team that joins forces on a sacred mission to rescue the world from creative mediocrity and strategic aimlessness. They build an office, and suddenly—

Wait! So it's not really a show, right?

Okay, you've got us. But we needed a name as grandiose as our mission and "Batman and Robin" was already taken.

You're superheroes?

Those are your words, not ours. We prefer to think of ourselves as humble, hardworking professionals who just happen to wear tights and capes.

Really?

No.

So what do you create?

Advertising, marketing materials, Web sites and content—along with the strategic thinking they are built on.

"Dave"—is that short for David?

You're good. Dave Goldenberg is a veteran New York agency creative executive, who has toiled at the likes of Chiat/Day and Anderson & Lembke.

And Eddy?

Eddy is someone we deeply admired but who, unfortunately, no longer collects mail this side of the misty vale. We have chosen to honor him in our name.

(Until recently we were The Dave and Alex Show. Alex is still a fine friend of ours. You can find him here.)

Do you have a creative philosophy?

We're not philosophers (at least not until our third pint of Guinness). But this is our point of view: All effective communication starts with a clear, compelling idea. And if you have that, there is no need to hide behind gratuitous bells and whistles. Be honest, simple and direct.

Yeah, well, everybody says that.

Maybe they say it. If they meant it, everything out there would be simpler. Believe it or not, it takes a lot of effort to make things look effortless. But then, we're professionals.

So you've got clients?

Makes the business more interesting, don't you think? We've turned heads with our work for AOL, PepsiCo, Red Hat, Nickelodeon and Oakleaf and others. See more here.

Where is your office?

Our world headquarters is in leafy and picturesque Ridgefield, CT, on leafy and picturesque Main St. We're an hour from NYC, right here.
